Upgrade Your Bedroom With Luxury Bedding and Duvet Covers

I like redecorating my bedroom with the changing of the seasons. There are several small things that you can do to bring a fresh new look to your bedrooms, without spending  a ton of money. One of those things is a change in your comforter and bedding theme. Instead of purchasing a full  comforter bedding set every season, I like to buy duvet covers. This is less expensive in the long run and they are also easier to clean.

If you are redecorating your bedroom you may want to consider a change from the quilt or comforter that you have now to a duvet or duvet set. By choosing a duvet and cover that is part of a coordinated set you can feel confident that you are working with a coordinated color palate that will give a great look to your room.

The actual duvet itself is not as much of an issue since you will be covering it with a duvet cover. The main thing that you need to think about is the size of duvet you will be purchasing and the material which will fill it. You want to make sure that if anyone who will be using the duvet has an allergy to feathers that you look at picking duvets filled with synthetic fiber or silk fiber.

If you look on bedding websites or in stores which sell bedding you will see that it is often possible to purchase duvet sets. These normally include the cover (but not the duvet to go inside of it) and pillow shams. More complete “bed in a bag” sets may also include a bed skirt as well. These can be great if you are just beginning to decorate and are worried about picking coordinating fabrics or patterns.

Some sets may also allow you to purchase matching items. These could include specialty pillows such as bolster cushions or even curtains or table coverings. The amount of coordination is left up to you but if you opt for all of these your bedroom will have a very coordinated look that many people find appealing.

You don’t need to completely match everything in your bedroom. In fact, many people do not like the look of a room where everything matches completely. You may want to pick some items that coordinate but do not match exactly. Just remember a good decorating rule of thumb. If the pattern in your duvet cover is very busy, pick other items which work color wise but which are not as strong. A good floral pattern may look fantastic if it is offset by a simple stripe, a check or a polka dot pattern.

You may also want to pull one color out of the pattern in order to pick a color for your walls or other decorating items. This can result in a room which is easy to put together and looks beautiful as well.

As you can see, great decorating does not take a huge amount of thought or effort. Using duvets and duvet sets means that you can end up with the warm and intimate bedroom you have always wanted.
